Job Description
Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician in the Appeals department, where you will play a crucial role in assisting Medicare and Medicaid patients, primarily focusing on Medicare. Your main task will involve working through denied Prior Authorizations and forwarding cases to Pharmacists for final determination. You will review provided information, reach out for additional details, and ultimately send the case to the Pharmacists to decide on whether to uphold or overturn the denial.
Responsibilities
+ Review information provided for denied Prior Authorizations.
+ Reach out for additional necessary information.
+ Send cases to Pharmacists for final determination.
+ Make approximately 60 outbound calls per shift to Medicare/elderly members.
+ Handle calls with Medicare patients who are frustrated due to medication denial.
Essential Skills
+ Data entry skills.
+ Pharmacy Technician certification.
+ Experience with appeals, managed care, claims, and denials.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ Proficiency in computer skills.
+ Ability to work remotely and independently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CPHT certification.
+ Experience in handling customer service over the phone.
+ Ability to control and redirect conversations as needed.
Work Environment
This position is 100% remote, requiring work in a closed-door setting with limited distractions to ensure HIPAA compliance. Strong WiFi is necessary, and the ability to work independently is essential. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM in your time zone. Candidates must be comfortable working weekends and holidays as part of a rotation. Training will be conducted from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM EST. There is no PTO during the contract period, but some supervisors may allow time off with the possibility of making up the time, subject to supervisor approval.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
