Job Title: Energy Engineer

Job Description

As an Energy Engineer, you will support energy efficiency programs across various utility clients for commercial buildings. You will be responsible for inspecting facilities to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and work collaboratively with HVAC subcontractors to select appropriate equipment for upgrades. Your role will involve developing scopes of work following site assessments, assessing bids for fairness, and selecting contractors based on competitive pricing. Additionally, you will work closely with architects and engineers to ensure alignment with building specifications. This is an office-based role focused on blueprint review rather than hands-on construction.

Responsibilities

+ Support energy efficiency programs for commercial buildings across utility clients.

+ Inspect facilities to assess opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.

+ Collaborate with HVAC subcontractors to select equipment for upgrades.

+ Develop scopes of work following site assessments.

+ Evaluate bids to ensure fairness and select contractors based on best price.

+ Coordinate with architects and engineers on building specifications.

+ Conduct blueprint reviews rather than design engineering.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

+ At least 1 year of experience with energy efficiency retrofits of RTU.

+ Knowledge of HVAC split systems, boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, insulation, and electrical systems.

+ Ability to communicate technical concepts with engineers and subcontractors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Mechanical engineering background in design or contracting.

+ Proficiency in speaking the mechanical language to coordinate projects effectively.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
