    Job Title: InspectorJob Description

     

    As an Inspector, you will be responsible for performing inspections of pile installations, deep dynamic compaction, compacted fills, utilities, concrete, and rebar. You will conduct geotechnical testing, including soil classification, permeability testing, and nuclear density measurements. Additionally, you will monitor sitework elements such as retaining walls, asphalt, and foundations while observing and documenting utility installations, ground improvements, and environmental sampling.

    Responsibilities

    + Interpret construction drawings and specifications; verify dimensions, elevations, and alignments.

    + Collect and prepare samples for lab testing; assist with environmental audits and reporting.

    + Support installation and monitoring of wells; analyze groundwater flow and site data.

    + Prepare daily logs, sketches, cost estimates, and technical reports.

    + Mentor junior staff and collaborate with senior peers on complex projects.

    + Operate and maintain field equipment, including hand augers, lump hammers, and density gauges.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in inspection, field inspection, and geotechnical testing.

    + Ability to read and interpret site plans, structural drawings, and regulatory documents.

    + Experience in construction inspection, geotechnical testing, and environmental fieldwork.

    + Strong math skills, including geometry and algebra.

    + Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred; HS diploma or GED with 1–4 years of relevant experience accepted.

    + Certifications such as OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, ACI, NICET, NJ DCA Special Inspector, and Nuclear Densometer are a plus.

    Work Environment

    This position requires working on-site five days a week. The work environment includes the use of equipment such as hand augers, lump hammers, and density gauges. You will be involved in activities such as soil sampling, pile installations, borings, utilities, concrete, and rebar work.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Pine Brook, New Jersey.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
