Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Highway/Roadway) to join our Transportation team in Riverside, California in Summer 2026, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply your academic knowledge to real-world transportation engineering challenges. You will assist our team in various aspects of highway/roadway design and learn about industry-standard procedures and software.
Project opportunities may include supporting the design of interstate highways, freeway interchanges, and major arterial roads. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable insights into transportation engineering.
Your Responsibilities May Include:
* Support engineering teams with a variety of technical tasks and project-related duties.
* Assist engineers in the research, development, and design highway/roadway projects.
* Contribute to the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, and documentation.
* Perform basic geometric design calculations for highway and roadway projects.
* In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
* Completed coursework related to transportation engineering or highway/roadway design
Ideally, You Will Have
* 3.0 GPA
* At least a rising Junior
* Familiarity with CAD software, such as OpenRoads and AutoCAD
* A previous internship related to your field of study
* Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to transportation infrastructure projects
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
* Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
