    Fund Accountant – Venture Capital | San Francisco, CA

    A premier venture capital firm is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its finance team in San Francisco. This is a great opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in fund operations, financial reporting, and portfolio management within a dynamic investment environment.

    About the Role:

    You’ll work closely with the CFO, Controller, and Senior Accounting Manager to support fund accounting across multiple investment vehicles, including core funds and SPVs. The firm is actively raising new funds and deploying capital, offering exposure to a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Liaise with fund administrators, auditors, and tax teams

    + Assist with quarterly and annual audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting

    + Maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and transaction records

    + Monitor and update portfolio valuations

    + Process investment and expense transactions

    + Support budgeting and financial documentation

    + Contribute to ad hoc projects and operational improvements

    Requirements

    Ideal Candidate:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business

    + 0–2+ years of professional experience

    + Highly organized with strong attention to detail

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + QuickBooks experience a plus

    + Comfortable working across teams and functions
