Description

A busy law firm in the South Bay is seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to join their team on a contract-to-hire or long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation or transactional matters.

The firm handles civil litigation, personal injury, consumer law, and transactional work, and offers a collaborative work environment with hybrid flexibility (2–3 days onsite in the South Bay, remainder remote).

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare, format, and proof legal documents including pleadings, correspondence, discovery, motions, and contracts.

+ Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, and client meetings.

+ Coordinate case files, organize exhibits, and maintain accurate records.

+ Handle incoming calls, emails, and client communications professionally.

+ Assist with trial or transaction preparation, including document assembly and filing.

+ E-file documents with California state courts and federal courts accurately and timely.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 5+ years of experience as a legal secretary in a civil litigation or transactional law environment.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software.

+ Experience with California state and federal court e-filing systems.

+ Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
