    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. You will operate various types of heavy construction equipment, such as motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, compressors, pumps, derricks, shovels, tractors, and front-end loaders. Your role will involve excavating, moving, and grading earth, erecting structures, and pouring concrete or other hard surface pavements. Additionally, you may be required to repair and maintain equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate heavy construction equipment including motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, compressors, and more.

    + Excavate, move, and grade earth, and pour concrete or other hard surfaces.

    + Maintain and repair equipment as needed.

    + Communicate effectively with team members and other personnel.

    + Adhere to safety procedures and practices at all times.

    + Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 3 years experience operating equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, rollers, and front-end loaders.

    + Ability to communicate effectively with others.

    + Familiarity with safety procedures and practices.

    + Physical ability to perform activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma preferred.

    + Attention to detail.

    + Experience with equipment like skidsteers, bobcats, and excavators.

    Work Environment

     

    This role involves working outdoors on a bridge tunnel project with exposure to various weather conditions. Shifts are 12 hours long, from 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am, scheduled from Friday to Monday.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
