Job Title: Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our team in a production environment focused on manufacturing and assembling specialty fiber optics subcomponents and products. This role requires excellent hand dexterity and the ability to work with SOPs, work instructions, or schematics.

Responsibilities

+ Accountable for department output and efficiency in area of responsibility.

+ Ensure safe work practices and adherence to established Safety procedures.

+ Maintain a harmonious manufacturing/work environment.

+ Maintain accuracy and adherence to process documents and product specifications.

+ Cross train in multiple processes and departments to allow for continuous manufacturing coverage.

+ Help develop individual team members to solve own day-to-day operational issues.

+ Assist in the implementation of employee training programs.

+ Learn higher technical level manufacturing jobs, processes, and other necessary operations and functions.

+ Document procedures and processes for developing or transitioning products.

+ Participate in daily production alongside team members.

+ Support production cells to ensure maximum efficiency.

+ Maintain communication with team leader and/or supervisor.

+ Suggest continuous improvement projects specific to the products and processes.

+ Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

+ Assist in coordinating efforts with area support personnel to correct equipment/process problems in a timely manner in order to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency and yield.

Essential Skills

+ Good hand dexterity

+ Experience working with SOPs, work instructions, or schematics

+ Experience in a production environment

+ Bonding, splicing, and cutting wire

+ Testing and screening optical components and products

+ Manipulating fibers and manufacturing laser components

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with fiber-optics and electronics

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ 3 years of manufacturing experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
