Job Title: Configuration Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Configuration Technician to join our team. This role requires proficiency in installing and configuring operating systems across various hardware platforms. The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on computer hardware assembly and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

+ Install and configure various operating systems on a wide range of hardware.

+ Recognize RAID configurations through a Terminal.

+ Flash custom BIOS and firmware into hardware.

+ Install software images using an internal PXE environment.

+ Differentiate between hardware and software problems.

+ Perform troubleshooting for computer hardware issues, including reseating CPUs, memory, and inspecting cable connections.

+ Communicate production problems with Production, Engineering, and Sales departments.

+ Assemble computer hardware following build documentation.

+ Identify and quarantine defective hardware.

+ Perform visual inspections on systems and accessory boxes.

+ Work extended hours during peak times as needed.

+ Fulfill roles as an assembly technician or undertake other projects as required.

Essential Skills

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ 1–3 years of experience in the assembly manufacturing field.

+ Experience with computer hardware.

+ Proficiency in using computers and email, with some knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

+ Ability to lift 50 lbs.

+ Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with various operating systems is desired.

+ Linux experience is preferred.

+ Must work well with others and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

+ Willingness to work additional hours and weekends when required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Libertyville, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
