Job Title: Lead Building Engineer
Job Description
The Lead Building Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at the assigned facility. The role involves performing necessary maintenance tasks to maximize the life and reliability of all systems. This position often operates without a Chief Engineer on-site and may require supervising maintenance staff depending on the facility's complexity.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with or conduct the daily operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with general maintenance requirements.
+ Supervise maintenance staff when applicable, assigning and monitoring activities and projects.
+ Perform preventive maintenance duties such as changing filters, lubricating motors, replacing lamps, ballasts, and fixtures, inspecting and adjusting belts, replacing motor bearings, aligning shafts, and other manufacturer-recommended inspections.
+ Recommend ongoing improvements to the preventive maintenance program.
+ Develop and maintain effective building-specific maintenance procedures.
+ Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians.
+ Maintain stock and inventory control.
+ Respond immediately to emergency situations such as fire, evacuation, or equipment failure, and address customer concerns.
+ Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and directives related to building operations, practicing safe work habits.
+ Ensure the management team is informed of current building operations by compiling and submitting monthly reports.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in building maintenance and facilities maintenance.
+ Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems.
+ Strong communication proficiency in both oral and written forms.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Technical proficiency in maintenance and repair tasks.
+ Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ CFC certification required
+ Stationary Engineers license preferred
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Experience in leading teams.
+ Skills in painting, carpentry, and general maintenance repair.
Schedule
This position offers a flexible 1st shift schedule, allowing you to start between 6-8am, providing a balance between work and personal life.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.50 - $42.00/hr.
