Position Summary

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state-of-the-art facility. With sustainability and safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. Our factory does our part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta—an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and together, we contribute to the growth of businesses and population, building the city's strong logistics, entertainment and film, and health services industries.

As a Painter, you’ll be responsible for the appearance of the interior and exterior of the Fairburn plant through expertise in surface preparation, paint application, and attention to detail. Adhere to safety protocols and use protective equipment to maintain a safe working environment at all times as you support the visual maintenance of necessary surfaces in our Fairburn, GA facility.

+ Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, taping and priming them

+ Apply a variety of coatings (latex, enamel, lacquer, epoxy paints and stains) using a variety of methods (brush, roller and sprayer).

+ Utilize ladders, scaffolding, or other equipment to reach high or difficult-to-access areas

+ Assist with the development and maintenance of visual marking systems for TPM and 5S standard in building and grounds

+ Consult on projects to include materials, methods and practice recommendations

+ Plan and coordinate with contractors, order materials and maintain proper inventory of supplies

+ Inspect and record completed work assignments in SAP computer system

+ Safely use power tools such as belt sander, screw gun & drill, etc. to complete tasks

Requirements

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ 3 years of industrial / commercial painting experience

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $34.14. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
