1st shift, 700am to 3:30pm, contract-to-hire

Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will perform technical tasks related to quality control, including inspection, testing, and documentation. This role involves working under moderate supervision to ensure the quality and reliability of products through inspection and calibration processes.

Responsibilities

+ Performs inspections under a microscope

+ Must be able to use calipers and micrometers

+ Must be able use Microsoft Excel

+ Read and interpret specifications and blueprints/mechanical drawings.

+ Compile quality data using tools such as SPC charting methodology.

+ Evaluate quality issues identified by test and/or inspection results and report appropriately.

+ Review and disposition product defects identified through testing and/or inspection.

+ Review documentation for completeness and compliance with specifications.

+ Solve routine problems with standard solutions.

+ Maintain test machines and test fixtures.

+ Process shipping documentation and identify/prepare necessary documents for shipment.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.

+ High school diploma or equivalent required; AA or AS degree in a technical discipline preferred.

+ Ability to use a microscope for extended periods.

+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and blueprints.

+ Competency in using a micrometer, caliper, depth gauge, and other measuring tools.

+ Proficiency with computers, including word-processing and spreadsheet programs.

Work Environment

This role requires working in a cleanroom environment, wearing appropriate cleanroom apparel. The position involves both sitting and standing for extended periods, as well as bending, stooping, turning, and twisting. The ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and to handle small parts or tools is necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
