Job Title: Field Service Mechanic
Job Description
The Field Service Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the successful startup, operation, and long-term performance of equipment in the field. This role combines technical expertise, customer training, problem-solving, and service leadership to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical aptitude, electrical/control systems knowledge, and a service-oriented mindset. This position requires frequent travel (approximately 75%) across the U.S., its territories, and Canada.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect new equipment installations, including mechanical systems and controls.
+ Perform equipment startup and commissioning processes.
+ Train customer personnel on operation, maintenance, and inspection of equipment.
+ Perform repair, maintenance, and modifications on existing equipment.
+ Execute warranty service work and provide retraining to customer staff when required.
+ Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
+ Collaborate with the Engineering team to share field insights and suggest product improvements.
+ Prepare detailed service call and field reports, documenting equipment issues, repairs, and solutions.
+ Maintain proper organization of paperwork, tools, and equipment while on assignment.
+ Ensure all work aligns with safety guidelines and company procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanical aptitude

+ Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, and wiring

Work Environment
Field Service Technicians will fly out to their site on Monday and fly home on Friday, working standard first shift hours while on site but may need to work longer some days. Usually home for weekends. There is a significant amount of travel required currently. When not traveling, work will be based in the Gurnee facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gurnee, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
