Job Title: Grinder/Shop Labor

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Grinder/Shop Laborer who can grind and polish materials to meet engineering specifications. The successful candidate will manually position workpieces using a crane or forklift and follow routing sheets and instructions.

**Shift:** 5:00am - 3:30pm M-Th and Friday 5:00am to 1:30

**Pay:** 16-22/hr

Responsibilities

+ Grind and polish workpieces to engineering specifications.

+ Position workpieces manually using cranes or forklifts.

+ Remove sharp edges, burrs, pits, and cracks using power grinders, sanders, and needle-gun chippers.

+ Operate bead blasters and sand blasters with appropriate safety gear.

+ Complete and scan work orders accurately for each job.

+ Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.

+ Function collaboratively as a team member and maintain a respectful workplace.

+ Honor EEO guidelines and principles.

+ Report to work on time and ready to perform duties.

+ Perform other related duties as directed or necessary for department objectives.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to grind and polish to engineering specifications.

+ Proficiency in reading blueprints efficiently and accurately.

+ Capability to produce assigned work within allotted timeframes.

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions.

+ Basic math skills for calculating figures and amounts.

+ Common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.

+ Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

+ Proficiency in using a Visual Scanning System.

Work Environment

This role requires working in a manufacturing facility where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel ESD toe shoes, and ear protection in designated areas is mandatory. Employees must keep work areas clean and comply with regulations regarding hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The environment involves using equipment such as grinders, sanders, cranes, forklifts, bead-blast cabinets, and sand blast equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lynn Haven, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.18/hr.
