Description

Robert Half is seeking a seasoned Contract Litigation Attorney to support our asbestos litigation team, with a particular focus on New York City Asbestos Litigation “NYCAL” matters. This role is ideal for a highly experienced litigator who brings deep expertise in asbestos-related claims and is ready to contribute meaningfully to case evaluation and settlement strategy.

Start Date: TBD (Additional details forthcoming)

Schedule: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote each week (40/ hours per week)

Duration: On going Contract

Compensation: $85+/ hour

Technology: All necessary equipment provided

License Requirement: Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York

Key Responsibilities:

+ Collaborate with Associate Counsel to evaluate asbestos cases ready for settlement

+ Assist in negotiating settlements with plaintiff firms, ensuring outcomes align with sustainable value targets

+ Support strategic resolution of grouped cases managed by leading plaintiffs’ firms

+ Provide legal insight and guidance on damages assessment and settlement strategy

Requirements

Essential Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

+ 10+ years of experience in asbestos litigation

+ 2–5 years of direct experience with NYCAL litigation

+ Proven ability to assess damages and negotiate settlements in asbestos cases involving:

+ Mesothelioma

+ Lung cancer

+ Asbestosis

+ Active license to practice law in New York State

+ Ideal Candidate Profile:

+ Strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills

+ Deep understanding of asbestos litigation dynamics and NYCAL procedures.

+ Comfortable working independently while collaborating with senior legal leadership.

+ Detail-oriented and committed to achieving fair, sustainable outcomes.
