Position Overview:
The Project Controls Cost Scheduler provides support in all aspects of project performance including analytics for proposals, cost tracking, profitability analysis, resource utilization, scheduling and planning, developing and tracking change orders, and effectively communicating the projects progress to management. The Project Controls Cost Scheduler is also the main point of contact for any client, subcontractor or internal team member for questions related to project finances.
Duties & Responsibilities
+ Analyze cost data, physical progress data and schedule data in order to estimate financial performance of the project and provide accurate cost estimates for revenue recognition.
+ Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of overall project budget and financial status. Work with project managers to establish estimates, historical trends, and additional metrics for development of budgets.
+ Conduct weekly/monthly review process with project and accounting managers to evaluate the overall project performance, project invoicing, schedule review, and workload forecasting.
+ Work with contract administration to prepare project accounting set-up based on contract agreement at project initiation, and close-out at project completion
+ Monitor the coding of timesheets, purchase orders, and vendor invoicing. Update, maintain, and analyze project commitments and expenditures.
+ Facilitate weekly/monthly/milestone invoice generation and preparation of supporting documentation
Job Requirements
+ Regular attendance is required.
+ The applicant is expected to be a highly engaged self-starter working with minimal supervision identifying problems and offering possible solutions and taking appropriate action for resolution.
Skills and Specifications
+ BS in Accounting or related discipline
+ Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in cost accounting, scheduling, and/or project management preferably on engineering services and/or construction projects but not required
+ Proficiency and knowledge of cost/planning/control and reporting techniques, specifically project accounting practices and use of financial systems (e.g. system input and reporting, invoicing and cash flow, revenue recognition, etc.)
+ Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
+ Very proficient computer skills using MS Excel, Project, Word and Power Point
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Acceptance that some travel may be required
