    Overview

     

    Reporting to Group Manager – Tax, the Senior Tax Accountant/Analyst will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion and filing of sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and other tax return filings. This position will also be responsible for supporting the federal, state, and international tax compliance and reporting for PASA LLC and subsidiaries, and preparation of the corporate income tax provision.

    Responsibilities

    A DAY IN THE LIFE:

    Income Tax Compliance and Reporting:

    + Assist with preparation of federal and state Income Tax Returns

    + Assist with preparation of U.S. International Reporting Forms.

    + Assist with quarterly Federal and State Estimated Tax Payments

    + Assistance with sales and use tax filings and preparation

    + Prepare state indirect tax returns

    Tax Accounting:

    + Assist with preparation of Tax Provision under IAS 12.

    + Assist with maintaining, updating, and reconciling current and deferred tax accounts; and

    + Assist with preparation of Tax Journal Entries for all Panasonic companies and divisions.Federal and State Audits

    + Compile all necessary information to assist tax team in responding to Federal and State tax audits.

    Indirect Tax Compliance and Reporting

    + Review monthly data received from businesses and manage the indirect tax compliance processes, including coordination with outsourced Services Provider for monthly filings of sales and use tax returns.

    + Prepare/review monthly indirect tax account reconciliations.

    + Oversee indirect tax rates, tax classification, and exemption documentation:

    + Manage indirect tax audits, including responding to audit queries and information requests.

    + Prepare/review property tax filings, including renditions, exemption filings, monthly accruals, and assisting with monthly and annual returns.

    + Prepare journal entries including tax only adjustment entries and monthly property tax accruals.

    + Manage and review state unclaimed property returns.

    + Develop and review indirect tax internal controls.

    + Partner with business teams to advise on the indirect tax implications of their activities.

    + Maintain up-to-date documentation on tax processes and evaluates opportunities for improvement and efficiencies across the indirect tax function.

    + Identify and implement indirect tax process improvements and opportunities for automation.

    + Monitor indirect tax legislation and implement compliance changes and communicate impact to the businesses.

    Special Projects

    + Assist with tax service provider in the preparation of Tax Packages for Federal and State Income Tax Returns, Provision and Quarterly Estimates.

    + Assist and work with Finance and Accounting teams from Mexican subsidiaries on various projects.

    + Work closely with other functions and departments within the Company to support various tax projects and initiatives.

    + Participate and learn from special projects, using tax software and technology.

    MUST-HAVES:

    + Four-year college degree preferably in business, finance, tax, or accounting related field preferred.

    + Four (4) years previous experience in the tax accounting

    + Working knowledge of and experience with SAP is preferred.

    + Comprehensive proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel skills for reconciling/analyzing large amounts of data using vlookups & pivot tables.

    + Solid organization skills and attention to detail.

    + Excellent follow-up skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

    + Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of the team yet function well independently.

    + Be able to research, interpret, and apply tax regulations to business activities.

    + Strong cross-departmental collaboration skills.

    + High performance in current role, with a track record of exceeding expectations.

    + Ability to innovate and implement efficient processes.
