L3 Data Center Technician – Day
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Level 3 Data Center Technician to join our IT operations team. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity and performance of our data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in server installations, network troubleshooting, and GPU deployment, with a strong understanding of data center operations and infrastructure.
Shift Options:
This role operates on a Day Shift and follows one of the following schedules:
+ A Side: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday
+ B Side: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday
Key Responsibilities:Deployment & Installation
+ Move and install servers and switches per wire maps
+ Inspect hardware for damage and ensure proper cabling
+ Bundle cables neatly and according to standards
+ Install NICs, drives, memory, and other components
+ Unbox and prep servers for deployment
+ Rack and stack servers/switches for remote configuration
+ Deploy and configure GPUs in servers
+ Install and label copper and fiber infrastructure (Cat5, Cat6, SM/MM/MPO)
+ Handle and install optical modules (SFP, QSFP)
+ Scope and clean fiber connectors (SC, LC, MPO)
Break-Fix & Troubleshooting
+ Diagnose and resolve server and network issues
+ Replace faulty components and manage vendor returns
+ Update firmware and configure IPs/login credentials
+ Support network admins with cabling, optics, and server/switch configurations
+ Perform break-fix tasks related to GPUs and other hardware
Operational Support
+ Perform tasks across Level 1 and Level 2 technician scope as needed
+ Manage ITSM tickets and ensure timely resolution
+ Audit servers and consumables
+ Document progress using MS Office and customer tracking tools
+ Ensure compliance with safety and data center standards
Leadership & Project Management
+ Serve as liaison between team members and management
+ Prioritize and manage team workload
+ Review and validate build documentation
+ Direct build activities and ensure alignment with data center standards
+ Provide thought leadership to support program growth
+ Manage multiple concurrent projects under high-pressure conditions
+ Communicate status updates to project managers
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
+ 4+ years of experience in a hyperscale data center environment
+ Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
+ Experience with GPU deployment (preferred)
+ Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and safely climb ladders
+ Ability to wear personal protective gear and stand/walk for extended periods
+ Flexibility to work non-standard hours including weekends and holidays
Top Skills:
+ 4+ years of hands-on data center technician experience (break/fix, deployment, troubleshooting)
+ GPU deployment experience (strongly preferred)
+ Hardware installation and cabling expertise

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
