As a **CO+I** **Mechanical Engineer** , you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Responsibilities
+ Promote a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of data center operations.
+ Understand the design, functionality, and operational requirements of your data center.
+ Collaborate with a team of industry professionals across Information Technology (IT) and Critical Environments (CE) to support 24x7x365 on-site data center operations and mechanical infrastructure.
+ Serve as the technical authority for on-site operations of large-scale mechanical systems and designs.
+ Establish and coordinate maintenance and safety procedures, ensuring the reliability ofhigh-capacitycooling systems and supporting backup electrical systems (e.g., diesel generators, rotary UPS).
+ Steward critical infrastructure that supports the deployment of Microsoft’s online services.
+ Assistwith supplierselectionand oversee mechanical supplier execution to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications
Required Qualification:
+ Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related technical engineering experience
+ OR equivalent experience
+ 1+ years’ experience in control engineering and generators,pumps, valves, HVAC theory, fire protection, water treatment and thermal management.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred** **Qualifications:
+ Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, or related field OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related technical engineering experience
+ OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related technical engineering experience
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 1+years’ project management
**Mechanical Engineering IC3 -** The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

**Mechanical Engineering IC4 -** The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
