    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced **_Director of Compliance - Worldwide Sales and Solutions (WSS)_** within the WSS Strategy & Operations Team.     Reporting to the Sr. Director of WSS Strategy & Operations, this role will be responsible for providing comprehensive compliance leadership across a diverse and evolving set of risk domains and compliance priorities. Working closely with core Compliance teams, Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA), Finance, HR, and other key business partners across WSS and MCAPS (Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions), you will not only drive significant business impact for WSS, but also ensure we maintain a culture of compliance throughout our organization.

    Responsibilities

    In this role, you will deliver strategic and operational leadership and execution across the following key areas:

    + **Compliance planning and operational leadership:**

    + You will deliver comprehensive program leadership across WSS’ core compliance function and aligned workstreams. Working in close partnership with WSS/MCAPS teams and key business partners, you will both lead across and deeply collaborate with a WSS Core + extended compliance v-team, providing business leadership across a diverse range of strategic compliance focus areas including Microsoft’s Secure Future Initiative (SFI), Responsible AI, privacy, anti-corruption/Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), trade, Executive Orders/regulatory mandates, and new/evolving strategic initiatives as prioritized. You will lead cross-org coordination and execution of core compliance rhythms, requirements/actions, reporting/Exec status updates, etc. for prioritized compliance workstreams/workloads- on time and with quality.

    + You will partner with the WSS Exec Office/Business Mgmt team(s) to ensure coordination and on-time execution of internal org compliance mandates (e.g. Executive Orders, required compliance trainings, supplier compliance requirements/vetting, internal tool vetting, etc.)

    + In addition to leading the holistic WSS compliance portfolio, you will also serve as the WSS compliance lead on critical priority risk domains, requiring a depth of knowledge/SME on the given compliance landscape (requirements, risk parameters, etc.), a highly effective risk-mitigation/solution-orientation, and demonstrated ability to effectively mobilize key internal teams on all phases of scoping to execution. You will lead, implement and/or manage strategic WSS compliance initiatives (as prioritized) to drive compliance/operational excellence that empowers our organization at scale. Core responsibilities include:

    + Identifying key opportunities for risk mitigation/business improvement through a combination of analytics, qualitative insights, and business acumen

    + Performing landscape research and analysis (e.g., cross-IPS, cross-MCAPS, cross-MSFT) to drive scoping and solution recommendations for key program/operational priorities

    + Defining project/program requirements and creating project plan(s), timelines, communication rhythms/deliverables, status/risk management protocols and success measures/KPIs to ensure teams align and execute on a clear plan of record

    + You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. compliance leads/champs) to 1) build consensus across key program/initiative goals and strategies and 2) ensure programmatic and/or business processes are rigorous, executed on-time/on-plan- with operational excellence

    + AI leadership and operational transformation to evolve core compliance/business operational areas: lead net-new WSS projects or AI-focused initiatives (as prioritized) to drive transformative, operational impact and excellence that empowers our sales organization at scale.

    Qualifications

    Required/minimum qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + 8+ years of strategic program and/or project management experience in a technology organization, working across global stakeholders, multiple functions, and complex interdependencies.

    + 8+ years of compliance-related experience in one or more of the following areas: security, privacy, anti-corruption (FCPA), trade, accessibility, supplier compliance.

    Additional or preferred qualifications

    + Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement

    + OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 15+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + Analytical and problem-solving skills and experience with solid finance/business acumen.

    + Ability to accurately assess and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information (e.g., Return on Investment, Key Performance Indicators, business performance-to-value drivers, core data analytics, etc.), draw conclusions, present solutions to management and drive overall execution across a complex program.

    + Adept at traversing business, people, and P&L (profits & loss) priorities with proven success in leading and executing across multiple, concurrent workstreams/initiatives.

    + Track record in building partnerships and influencing stakeholder groups, as well as experience with internal advocacy in a large, dynamic and highly matrixed environment.

    + Work experience from business management, program/project management, finance, management consulting and/or change management preferred.

     

    Business Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
