We’re hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to support our Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. You will serve as the point person for transforming EquipmentShare's fleet operations, supply chain business and analytics needs into a scalable and repeatable structure. You will partner with Operations, Finance stakeholders, and the Fleet Operations team to create and monitor data pipelines, with a focus on developing processes and architecture efficiently and for the first time. Our ideal candidate sits at the intersection of Analytics and Data Engineering. Experience in DBT, Snowflake, and mathematical modeling is a plus. This position is fully remote.

Salary range: $135k-$150k. Factors including past experience and location may affect final compensation rate.

Primary Responsibilities

+ Strong owner in developing business-centric data models with minimal guidance and

comfort deriving answers from ambiguity

+ Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job

completion

+ Build and maintain data models quickly, refining over time to get production models

+ Reduce tribal complexity of querying data

+ Develop pipelines and testing automation to ensure data quality and integrity

+ Codify business rules into data models/testing

+ Develop and manage data pipelines using SQL and Python that extract data from

various sources and transform it according to business rules

+ Straddle the data architecture and operations worlds, choosing the right tool at the right

time to make the right decision for the business

+ Create, test, and deploy changes

+ Continuously monitor, improve, and proactively identify potential issues to improve the

data pipelines and ETLs

+ Leading and mentoring technical audiences through complex projects

Skills & Qualifications

+ Advanced SQL

+ Intermediate/Advanced Scripting (Python/R, etc)

+ Strong ability to adapt and be flexible within the scope of a given project as vision,

priorities, and timelines shift

+ Desire to thrive in a high-paced environment

+ Ability to work with and translate work cross functionally

+ Experience communicating with Senior (Director and VP) Stakeholders

+ Experience with ETL work on large data sets

+ Mathematical/Statistical methods and testings

Preferred Skills/Abilities

+ Experience working operational and supply chain data sets and techniques

+ Snowflake and DBT experience

+ Stats application experience

+ App Development

Education and Experience

+ 5+ years of SQL experience, creating complex SQL solutions to business problems

+ 2+ years of Python/R experience, creating scalable processes to solve business problems

+ 3+ years of experience data modeling and schema design

+ 3+ years of data visualization experience

Physical Requirements

+ Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
