Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr Staff Systems Engineer (Segment Technical Lead) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in San Diego, CA and will report on site. This role will fulfill the following responsibilities:
Segment Technical Lead
Aligns the Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP) with Operating Unit execution
+ This role leads a team of engineering leads, which span a broad collection of critical skills/subject matter experts. The Segment Technical Lead provides technical leadership, direction, and insight to the engineering leads /subject matter experts in the application of scientific principles, tools and techniques for identifying alternative approaches to complex problems and achieving practical end results.
+ Accountable for the engineering leads team’s solution and Technical Design. Defines initiatives critical to achievement of LRSP objectives in the solution backlog for decomposition and is the approval authority for the completion of solution backlog items.
+ Serves as the expert on the application of scientific principles across broad technical areas as it relates to architecture and design of advanced development products.
+ Collaborates across contracts and Operating Units, ensuring an integrated technical implementation and consistent business strategy for a specific segment
+ Collaborates with Chief Architect for segment to help drive consistency
+ Maintains critical external customer contact to understand their technical needs for leveraging the known sentiment, priority, and vision for content selection and prioritization
+ Aligns technical vision with Operating Unit execution of new Integrated Functional Capabilities/Value Streams
+ Technical Authority over NCTA, strategic development, and advanced development efforts for Segment Technical Area
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 14 years of experience, or a Masters in STEM with 12 years of experience, or a PhD with 10 years of experience.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees, management, and customer
+ Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks from multiple organizations and complete with limited oversight
+ Demonstrated broad technical expertise in multiple technology areas across the full systems engineering V
+ Experience working integration activities
+ Experience working with Agile constructs as a Product Owner
+ Active Top Secret Security Clearance for consideration
+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with current program access
+ Control Account Management (CAM) experience
+ Capture and Basis of Estimate (BOE) experience
+ Previous Experience as a Sub-IPT or IPT Lead

Primary Level Salary Range: $188,200.00 - $282,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
