    Mechanical Assembler

     

    SP Industries Inc.is expanding our team inGardiner, NYand have an immediate opening for aMechanical Assembler. In this role, the right candidate will build, wire, and test electrical apparatus and control equipment, using your skills to follow technical drawings and procedures. You’ll contribute to products that support cutting-edge research, healthcare, and environmental progress.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Reading and following electrical drawings, routers, and work orders

    + Using hand tools, power tools, and bench tools to assemble and test components

    + Drilling, tapping, and mounting equipment, including electrical boxes and conduit

    + Measuring, cutting, bending conduit and pulling wiring through

    + Wiring motors, valves, and terminations for wire harnesses

    + Assembling electrical panels and enclosures

    + Operating material handling equipment (carts, lifts, dollies, etc.) as needed

    + Completing all required paperwork accurately and on time

    + Preparing, cleaning, and packaging equipment for shipment

    EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Experience in industrial or electrical equipment manufacturing is a plus

    + Basic working knowledge of electricity and electromechanical equipment

    + Electro-mechanical aptitude preferred

    + Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

    + High school diploma or equivalent required

    + Technical or trade school education preferred

     

    Payrate:$20-25/hr

    HSE

    All employees have the responsibility to work in a safe manner and report any health, safety or environmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner.

    Employee responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:

    + Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures

    + Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods

    + Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts

    + Report defect in any equipment or protective device

    + Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks

    + Attend all required health, safety and environmental training

    + Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor

    + Assist in investigating accidents/incidents

    + Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
