Job Overview
The Corporate Director, Global Sales - Group strategically oversees the sales acquisition and account management of the group segment for the independent collection of hotels within Sage Hotel Management. The goal is to acquire, expand/grow, and convert group accounts for the hotels which will consist of contracted group rooms, banquet food/beverage, room rental and ancillary revenues. These efforts will ultimately provide the best possible return on investment for our owners and equity partners.
Responsibilities
+ Possess a longstanding history of account management for group sales within the hospitality industry.
+ Must have a strong working knowledge of each independent property limitations, rooms to space ratios, seasonality, and selling strategies.
+ Be proficient in contractual language and understand the dynamics of legalities of the more standard hospitality industry clauses.
+ Be able to create and manage relationships with account leads and vertically penetrate accounts for expanding business potential.
+ Ability to travel to account headquarters and present to and entertain key account contacts.
+ Possess strong written and presentation skills to be able to communicate the property offerings and grow business acquisition opportunities.
+ Working knowledge of third parties and representation firms to ensure strong communications and ability to educate on the portfolio.
+ Be able to attend and present at applicable tradeshows and client events to create overall collection exposure.
+ Exhibit leadership competencies that create vision, provide direction and drive the success of the company’s direct group sales efforts.
+ Lead strategic planning, development, and coordination of business initiatives and strategies for the group sales efforts.
+ Facilitate the development of a strategic sales and marketing approach that follows a standardized process and effectively communicates strategy and revenue projections.
+ Monitor and review property business plans and results on a quarterly basis, including making recommendations based on changing conditions and results.
+ Work with the properties to ensure lead platforms such as Cvent are up to date and optimized.
+ Frequently communicate with property teams to determine and promote need dates, promotions, and specific pace concerns.
+ Design and adhere to specific goals for group sales referral revenues as a whole and specific properties on an ad hoc basis.
+ Ensuring property systems and reports are complete and accurate.
+ Assist with preparation of the annual group budgets, forecasts and identify opportunities to maximize market share and revenue.
+ Coordinate the completion of group rooms, banquet F&B and Local F&B goals and approve quarterly & annual goals and updates.
+ Provide leadership oversight on group sales projects and new property openings. Be well positioned to continue to transition further assets into the Sage portfolio and acquire group business.
+ Participate and maintain active company and community relations while taking part in corporate activities and meetings.
+ Always represent yourself and the company with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, including professional appearance, conduct and demeanor.
+ Perform any other assignments as directed by the organization or leadership.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Secure leads and group sales/revenue potential for the independent hotels while working with the sales leads at each property to improve and maintain relations.

Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
Four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience.
Experience
6 - 8 years of related experience in national account sales and/or director of sales or group sales role for a property or properties with a strong group market presence.
National Account, Representation Firms and Third-Party Provider experience is preferred.
Field and corporate experience is preferred.
Multi – unit oversight experience is preferred.
Multi – brand experience is preferred but not necessary.
Being a member of hospitality organizations focused on account relationships is preferred.
