    This role is outsourced to Aon’s client PrinREI (Principal Real Estate Investors), a division of Principal Financial Group, and reporting to the Assistant Director of Risk Management! The primary responsibility of the Risk Consultant will be to update and manage property, policy, risk exposure and project data!

     

    Located in downtown Chicago, this position is hybrid, three days in Chicago’s Aon offices.

     

    Some travel may be required.

    Responsibilities

    Data Collection and Organization

     

    + Gather and systematically organize all relevant risk management data, including Property information, Policy documentation, Risk exposure data, Project-related documentation, Other supporting materials as required, Manage the regular distribution of updated risk management data to relevant parties, ensuring timely communication of any changes.

    Documentation Tracking and Follow-Up

    + Track, collect, and follow up on outstanding risk management documentation needed for various projects, maintaining up-to-date records.

    Insurance Certificate Management

    + Request, distribute, and organize insurance certificates, ensuring compliance and availability as needed for projects and team members.

    Insurance Expertise & Team member Communication

    + Provide insurance-related expertise and disseminate risk management topics to team members, ensuring understanding and compliance.

    Collaboration with Project Partners

    + Work closely with Development Managers and Joint Venture Partners to assess insurance needs and manage policy renewals for ongoing projects.

    Contract Insurance Review

    + Review and recommend appropriate insurance terms in contracts, supporting project and organizational risk management objectives.

    Owners Association Insurance Support

    + Support Owners Association insurance programs, including Assisting with renewal of Directors & Officers (D&O) and Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance coverage

    Subject Matter Expertise

    + Serve as the go-to expert on all risk management data collected, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for team members.

    Other Functions:

    + Collaborate with the Risk Management Specialist to streamline administrative processes and improve productivity.

    + Create and update building replacement cost reports.

    + Assist with purchase of NFIP flood insurance as needed.

    + Provide input on property claims and attend industry or carrier meetings.

    + Contribute to risk management communications and initiatives for senior management and partners.

    Special Skills

    + 2 years’ experience with commercial property and casualty insurance mandatory or degree in Insurance and/or Risk Management

    + Expert with Power BI and excel

    + Advanced with other Microsoft 365 products (i.e., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

    + Ability to analyze and work with data sets of various size to inspire change through data analysis.

    + Strong Communication Skills needed as a contributor addressing C Suite members.

    + Must be organized with the ability to prioritize day-to-day responsibilities.

    + Creative and Analytical Problem Solver and self-starter capable of working with minimal direction.

    Education and Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree – concentration in Risk Management a plus

    + Professional certificates such as ARM or CPCU a plus

    + Experience with insurance underwriting or brokerage

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted to reflect applicant’s geographic location.

     

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
