    Job Description

If you’re looking for a workplace where your contributions matter and your growth is encouraged, **Kuna Engineering** is a compelling option. With more than 40 years of experience serving communities across Alaska, Kuna has built a reputation for reliability and technical excellence. As a full-service firm offering architecture, civil, environmental, surveying, planning, electrical, and structural engineering services, you’ll have a chance to cross-train, collaborate across disciplines, and participate in projects from concept through implementation.

Beyond technical opportunity, Kuna emphasizes a supportive, team-oriented culture. Employees are respected, recognized, and given credit, and that work is more than transactional — it’s about being part of a team. We offer a full compensation package (including medical, dental, vision, retirement benefits, and employee assistance programs) and actively create pathways for career development. The firm’s “Giving Back” philosophy also demonstrates that it values community engagement — from supporting K-12 STEM education programs like BWISE to contributing to local causes and infrastructure in Alaska. Joining Kuna means being part of a firm with technical breadth, strong ethics, and a commitment to Alaska’s people and place.

    Summary

As a **Civil Engineer in Training** at Kuna, you would be actively involved in the full lifecycle of civil and infrastructure projects across Alaska. This might include assisting in environmental assessments, public involvement, grant writing, and compliance tasks. Kuna’s model emphasizes working closely with remote and rural Alaskan communities, so you may also engage in logistical planning, adaptation to harsh climates, and meaningful collaboration with clients and stakeholders to ensure designs are culturally viable and sustainable.
