The purpose of Southwire’s College Programs is to provide valuable experience to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher. Our goal is to give students meaningful work that builds on what they are learning in the classroom. Our programs are project based. Students will receive a project at the beginning of the summer and present it in our project expo at the end of the summer. Our more than seven decades of progressive growth can be attributed to our determination to develop innovative systems and solutions, exercising environmental stewardship and enhancing the well-being of the communities in which we work and live. Job Description
Job Summary/Objective:
The purpose of Southwire’s College Programs is to help early career professionals bring together formal learning and
productive work to improve their ability to transition from school to work. Southwire provides interns and co-ops with
•real world” applications of their academic studies, helpful feedback and coaching, and consideration for employment
after graduation. Each student will have a variety of responsibilities and assigned projects that relate to their field of
study and be responsible for developing a timeline, progress updates, and final delivery in a senior leadership expo.
Note: All new interns and co-ops must begin in the summer rotation.

Key Responsibilities
• Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and
will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work.
• You will also collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational
leaders, many of whom began as interns and co-ops themselves.
• You will be provided a robust developmental experience through an immersive onboarding and
offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and
community service /volunteer initiatives.
• You will have the opportunity to impact the future of the organization, all the while being exposed to
a world-class program community.

Long Description
Southwire is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy intern to support the Corporate Quality Team in a strategic Quality digitization initiative. This internship will focus on modernizing Quality Management System (QMS) procedures—particularly the implementation of digital change control tools and processes—while also contributing to broader efforts to integrate digital platforms across the Quality function. The intern will assist in configuring and optimizing IntellaQuest modules for workflows such as document control, nonconformance management, CAPA tracking, and change control. Additionally, the intern will lead the development of SharePoint-based websites that serve as both a document repository and a collaboration hub for the Corporate Quality Team, as well as a company-wide portal for employees to access Quality-related resources.
Key Responsibilities
+ Support the digitization of QMS workflows, with a focus on implementing and improving change control processes using IntellaQuest and other systems and digital tools.
+ Assist in configuring and enhancing digital modules for document control, nonconformance, and CAPA tracking.
+ Migrate data from legacy systems (Excel, manual logs) into structured digital formats.
+ Design and build SharePoint sites for internal collaboration and company-wide Quality resource access.
+ Develop user guides and support onboarding and training sessions for new digital tools.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure user-friendly site design and functionality.
Short Description
Qualifications
+ Minimum 2.5 GPA.
+ Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Engineering Technology (Junior or Senior Year)
+ Reliable transportation to and from work.
+ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
+ Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or other relevant tools.
+ Familiarity with HTML, CSS, or low-code/no-code platforms.
+ Prior internship or project experience in a corporate or manufacturing setting
