Job Overview
Fairview is now seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our medical imaging team at our Southdale Medical Building in Edina, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks) position that will work the following schedule with an every other weekend rotation:
Week 1:
Thursday (7AM - 2:30PM)
Friday (3PM - 8PM)
Week 2:
Monday (3:45PM - 8PM)
***The remaining hour will be flexed.
The Specialty Radiologic Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging in multiple ambulatory settings and locations. Responsible for providing quality age-appropriate patient care for patients according to established standards of practice and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The specialty radiologic technologist supports all imaging procedures, surgical cases, fluoroscopy studies, portable x-ray, and general x-ray performed the ambulatory setting. Provides assist in the opening of the supplies/equipment for surgical and special procedure cases as well as responding to codes, trauma activations and other emergent needs for imaging in an ambulatory care environment.
Responsibilities
+ Maintains patient care
+ Performs examinations
+ Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
+ Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
+ Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety
+ Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
+ Verify patient identification and documentation
+ Connect with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
+ Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
+ Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner
+ Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
+ Orients and mentors new employees and students
+ Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
+ Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
+ Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
Required Qualifications
+ Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
+ ARRT Certification/Registration
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) before date of hire
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelors Degree
+ 3 years experience as a technologist in a hospital setting
+ Advanced Imaging modality certification
