    About the Position

    As an Education Program Administrator (https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/capaz/classspecs/1786846?keywords=education%20program&pagetype=classSpecifications) , you would be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering educational programs and experiences at Central Arizona Project’s Water Education Center. This role ensures that all programs are engaging, accessible, and relatable to a diverse age-range. The Education Program Administrator will provide comprehensive oversight of the Water Education Center’s educational program initiatives, as well as conceptualization, research, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the WEC’s in-person public programs. Responsibilities include working collaboratively across departments to participate in, design, and successfully implement public programs.

     

    Under the supervision of the Stakeholder and Community Relations Manager, the Education Program Administrator position encompasses the development, presentation, and support of programs for school audiences, stakeholder groups, and the general public. They will be responsible for ensuring that the planning and implementation of these programs are aligned with CAP’s mission, vision, and Board Strategic Plan.

    The duties include:

    Program Development & Facilitation

    + Plan, coordinate, and deliver on-site and outreach programs for school groups, stakeholders, and the general public, with a primary focus on elementary school groups

    + Facilitate interactive, hands-on programs and presentations

    + Develop and deliver in-person educational and public programs that appeal to a broad general audience and connect with diverse communities

    + Collaborate with all CAP departments staff in development of programming

    Program Logistics, Coordination & Administration

    + Schedule and manage school visits, field trips, workshops, lectures, and community programs and events

    + Coordinate program registrations, confirmations, and evaluations

    + Oversee materials preparation, coordinate with appropriate staff for room/space setup, and technology needs for programs

    + Serve as point of contact for all events and functions prior to and day of scheduled events

    Community Engagement & Partnerships

    + Build and maintain relationships with schools, teachers, stakeholder groups, and community partners in the three-county service area

    + Represent the WEC at community events, teacher workshops, and outreach activities

    + Support partnerships that expand the reach of the WEC

    + Maintain knowledge of CAP content and serve as docent of the exhibit space, develop knowledge of content of all functional and content related aspects of exhibits

    + Serve as curator of all temporary exhibits in the facility, including the scheduling, installation, promotion, and all programming of temporary exhibits

    + Position may require alternate work hours such as evenings and some weekends

     

    About the Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Education, Natural Sciences, Museum Studies, or related field

    + At least 5 years of experience in program coordination, environmental education, museum/interpretive programming, or teaching

    + Strong presentation and public speaking skills for audiences of varying ages

    + Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting

    + Comfortable with hands-on, inquiry-based teaching methods

    + Understanding of pedagogical techniques, including approaches to formal and informal learning and knowledge of state education standards

    + Able to synthesize content into compelling, audience-centered experiences for audiences of diverse ages, interests, and motivations

    + Committed to welcoming, valuing, and engaging positively with people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences

    + Engage comfortably and consistently with the public

    + Exceptional communicator with outstanding written, organizational, analytical, time management, and interpersonal skills

    + Demonstrated experience in the development of innovative programming

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office

    + All aspects of event management experience
