This position is responsible for engineering services providing a broad spectrum of Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance(C5ISR) capabilities for United States Special Operation Forces (SOF). The selected candidate requires a high-level of experience and understanding of military communications, mobile platform integration, network systems, sensor systems, and operational environments. The typical programs provide system engineering services to our dynamic customers in support of assigned SOF and federal agency C5ISR related projects including: requirements definition, solution definition, integration, installation verification and validation, and operation and sustainment. The selected candidate will act as a lead engineer for SOF related projects and serve as the primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities on technical and program/project issues. Projects may include the integration and installation of new C5ISR systems or equipment, the upgrade or modernization of existing systems or equipment and the use of legacy, current, and emerging C5ISR technologies to meet unique end-user requirements. Tasking will span the entire systems engineering lifecycle or some portion thereof. Due to the rapid nature of our customer, tailoring of the systems engineering process will typically be required. While project performance will take place primarily at Continental United States CONUS locations, completion of project activities will require travel to Outside Continental United States OCONUS locations.
Primary duties of the position include:
- Researching and analyzing new technologies for possible use in military systems, and presenting findings to Government customers
- Assist with the design and integration efforts of C5I technologies (e.g. radio, telecommunication, IT infrastructure, cyber, and computer networks) across ship, combatant craft, military vehicles, fixed site, and transit case based systems
- Meeting with customers to discuss and define technical and operational requirements
- Working with technical staff and project managers to develop solution concepts, architectures, briefings, and cost estimates
- Applying systems engineering processes and principles to develop, analyze, design, test, and verify solutions
- Leading design teams to develop requirements documents, technical data packages, and test plans and procedures
- Working with manufacturing teams to integrate, test, and deliver prototype and production systems
- Developing feasibility studies, plans, white papers, and other documentation in support of decision making
- Collaborating with support contractors, Government civilians, and members of the U.S. military
This position is located in Lexington Park, MD or Chesapeake, VA. Some limited relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidate. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate to Lexington Park, MD or Chesapeake, VA or the surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
Minimum of 4 years experience in engineering field
Experience as a systems engineer on design projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Tactical vehicle and/or combatant craft C5ISR system integration experience
BICSI design or IT infrastructure experience
Network and/or cybersecurity credentials
Audio-Video/Video Teleconferencing system design experience
Prior US Military service
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
