Dispatcher — CREC Schools
Schedules Available:
Monday–Friday** **5:00 AM–1:30 PM
Monday–Friday** **11:00 AM–7:30 PM** **
_(Hours may vary depending on operational needs)_
Pay:** **$28.00–$29.00/hour
At **First Student** , our Dispatchers are a constant reflection of our company’s commitment to safety and customer service. The Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching all buses, ensuring on-time performance of routes, and counseling drivers and monitors on the front line.

Dispatcher Responsibilities
Oversee all routes and scheduling of buses to ensure timely service
+ Counsel and coach drivers and monitors on performance and safety standards
+ Handle heavy phone and radio communication with professionalism and accuracy
+ Serve as the primary communication liaison with major contracted customers
+ Take all scheduling and driver complaints, report to the Operations Supervisor/Contract Manager
+ Provide solutions to drop-off and pick-up challenges
+ Handle charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll as assigned
+ Perform back-up driver duties or clerical tasks when needed
+ Complete special project assignments
+ Assist with the supervision of day-to-day operations
+ Track attendance, route coverage, and maintain accurate reports
+ Support overall safety, compliance, and service quality initiatives
Dispatcher Experience and Skills Required
3–5 years of relevant experience (dispatching, routing, transportation coordination, or terminal operations)
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Basic knowledge of radio dispatch equipment
+ Excellent communication and customer service skills
+ Ability to multitask and perform under time constraints
+ Computer literacy, including dispatch/routing systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
+ Prior driver or transportation operations experience preferred
+ Dependable, punctual, and adaptable to varying schedule needs
+ CDL-B with P/S endorsements a plus (not required)
+ Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. _DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason._
