About this Position
The Defense Integrated Manufacturing Engineering team is responsible for execution of engineering activities to validate and enable manufacturing and producibility. The execution of these projects has significant impact to customer and business goals both in the short-term and long-term. Role requires a dedicated and dynamic Team Leader to oversee a small team focused on enhancing the delivery of structural castings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for task prioritization, ensuring high-quality output, and maintaining effective communication with senior leadership. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence within our manufacturing processes.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the execution of drawing modernization efforts through creation of standard work. You will apply engineering concepts to design, drafting and manufacturing issues. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to substantiate, communicate and document changes. You will engage with colleagues and partners in manufacturing sites to refine engineering solutions. You will manage projects related to the modernization of engineering requirements to streamline supplier communication and collaboration.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Will lead cross-functional teams on fast-paced projects involving moderate risks and resource requirements, utilizing Flight Deck (GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model). Responsible for explaining complex or sensitive information and fostering consensus among stakeholders. Requires persuasion skills to effectively influence others on topics within the field.
+ The leader must demonstrate strong project management skills to effectively scope and execute drawing modernization initiatives in collaboration with design engineering, product definition, and strategic sourcing teams. They will be responsible for reporting project status and escalating risks to the cross-functional management team. These projects will focus on updating GE product definitions to align with current industry best practices.
+ Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for various hardware germane to turbomachinery.
+ Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
+ Lead, mentor, and motivate a small team to achieve set goals and objectives. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
+ Organize and execute daily management to conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and align on priorities.
+ Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
+ Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Serve as the primary point of contact between the team and senior leadership. Prepare and present regular updates, reports, and performance metrics to senior management. Ensure clear and transparent communication of project status, risks, and opportunities.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design engineering with project management responsibilities
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Characteristics
+ Advanced degree in engineering in Mechanical or Aerospace accredited university or college
+ Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience delivering high-level presentations to executive leadership.
+ Established project management skills (i.e. MS Project, MIRO).
+ Leading without authority, will be responsible in guiding dynamic team.
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
+ Ability to document, plan, strategize, and execute programs using Flight Deck.
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges with sound documentation, planning, & program management skills.
+ Experience with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS, 3D modelling software such as NX Unigraphics, and use of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
+ Experience with structural component design.

The base pay range for this position is $139,700.00 - 195,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on November 4, 2025.
