    Housing and Food Services (HFS) has an outstanding opportunity for a Business Analyst to join their team.

     

    Housing & Food Services (HFS) supports over 10,000 student residents and operates 40+ dining locations on campus. With a team of over 1,200 staff and students, HFS is dedicated to enhancing student life through teamwork and excellent service.

    PURPOSE

    Provides professional-level leadership and vision for Housing & Food Services (HFS) business processes and their alignment with University systems and strategic goals. Serves as a subject matter expert in business analysis, ensuring optimal use of systems through well-defined business requirements, stakeholder engagement, and continuous process improvement. Plays a key role in current and upcoming HFS and University system transitions, including Student Database and Housing Management Systems, by leading business analysis efforts that support successful integration and adoption.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Business Process Analysis & Strategic Alignment

    + ·Leads initiatives to assess and improve HFS business processes in alignment with departmental priorities.

    + ·Conducts stakeholder interviews, workshops, and data analysis to identify business needs and improvement opportunities.

    + ·Performs gap analyses and root cause assessments to support informed decision-making.

    + ·Translates business needs into clear, actionable requirements for system and process enhancements.

    + ·Monitors regulatory and policy changes and assess their impact on business operations **.**

    Stakeholder Engagement & Solution Identification

    + Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement solutions that meet business needs.

    + Facilitates discussions between business units and technical teams to ensure mutual understanding of requirements and constraints.

    + Supports change management efforts by developing documentation, training materials, and communication plans.

    + Promotes adoption of existing tools and systems through user education and process alignment.

    Evaluation of Business Solutions

    + Participates in the evaluation of new systems, tools, and services to enhance business operations.

    + Document and prioritize business requirements and enhancement requests.

    + Supports procurement and sourcing efforts by contributing to business case development and vendor evaluations.

    Project Support & Implementation

    + Serves as a business lead on system implementation and upgrade projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.

    + Develops and manage business analysis deliverables including process maps, requirements documents, and test plans.

    + Coordinates with project managers, IT staff, and vendors to support successful implementation and user adoption.

    + Leads or supports business-focused change management activities.

    + Performs related duties as required.

    POSITION COMPLEXITIES

    Requires coordination across diverse business units and systems, balancing strategic priorities with operational needs. Must navigate complex stakeholder environments and ensure business continuity during system transitions.

    IMPACT TO THE UNIVERSITY

    Supports the integrity and efficiency of key business processes related to student housing, dining, financial transactions, and departmental operations. Enhances collaboration between HFS and University partners through improved business practices and systems alignment.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Regular Monday through Friday office hours with occasional hours required for special projects and emergencies.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, or related field, and four years of professional experience in business analysis, process improvement, or systems implementation.

    + Leadership experience reflecting a high level of integrity and trust

    + Strong presentation skills for small groups, as well as large, open, public meetings

    + Clear and concise written communication

    + Combination of forward-thinking approach to develop innovative business solutions while ensuring the integrity of the day-to-day operations

    + Successful collaboration among diverse stakeholders

     

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ​

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    + Experience in housing, dining, or financial operations within higher education.

    + Familiarity with enterprise systems such as Workday.

    + Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.

    + Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and driving process improvements.

    CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

    + A satisfactory outcome from the reference check process is required prior to hire

     

    Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

    Pay Range Minimum:

    $87,984.00 annual

    Pay Range Maximum:

    $128,544.00 annual
