    UW Continuum College has an exciting opportunity for a** **Integration Engineer!

     

    About the position

     

    The SIS Integration Engineer plays a key role in designing, building, and maintaining system integrations that support Continuum College’s mission to expand access to education. This position will lead integration development for Continuum’s new non-credit student information system (SIS) while continuing to support and modernize fee-based program integrations in our existing SIS. Using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, C#/Java/Python, and SQL, the engineer will create secure, reliable, and scalable solutions that ensure Continuum systems share data seamlessly with Continuum services, central UW platforms, and external partners.

     

    In addition, this position will serve as the technical system administrator for our non-credit SIS by configuring system settings, managing integration connections, monitoring system performance, and providing technical support for staff. This dual focus on integration engineering and system administration directly affects the efficiency, reliability, and security of Continuum’s academic and operational processes.

    Functional** **Responsibilities

    Solution Design and Development

    + Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of integrations between Continuum College systems, UW enterprise services, and external platforms using technologies such as MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, C#/Java/Python, and SQL.

    + Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and system owners to understand requirements, model data flows, and deliver secure and scalable integration solutions.

    + Implement best practices for integration security, including FERPA compliance, authentication, and data protection.

    + Document integration designs, configurations, and processes; provide knowledge transfer and technical support to internal stakeholders.

    Support and Maintenance:

    + Serve as technical system administrator for the non-credit SIS, including system configuration, integration setup and monitoring, and providing first-level technical support for staff using the system.

    + Maintain and enhance existing integrations, including fee-based SIS connections, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance with UWsecurity policies.

     

    Qualifications and skills

     

    We will consider a variety of personal and professional experiences; however, a successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in most areas of responsibility outlined above.

    Required

    + Bachelor’s degree, and three years of experience developing and supporting enterprise integrations and applications.

     

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.

    Additional requirements:

    + Proficiency in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or equivalent integration platform.

    + Proficiency in SQL database design and querying.

    + Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C#, or Python.

    + Experience with integration architecture patterns, such as APIs, messaging, and ETL processes.

    + Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern development workflows.

    + Experience working with business stakeholders to determine and document requirements and prioritize deliverables.

    A successful candidate may also have

    + Experience with higher education systems, especially student information systems such as Modern Campus’s Lifelong Learning Extended Education.

    + Strong understanding of data privacy regulations, including FERPA, and secure design principles.

    + Familiarity with cloud integration patterns and hybrid architectures.

    + Familiarity with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.

    + Experience with performance tuning and monitoring of integration solutions.

     

    Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

    Pay Range Minimum:

    $109,992.00 annual

    Pay Range Maximum:

    $123,516.00 annual
