The Coord. Operations ensures work priorities are established for operations and maintenance functions and activities in support of long- and short-term asset plans. This includes working to rank work orders and interface with the station Maintenance Coordinator and Resource Coordinator to assure prioritization of the highest value work.
The Operations Coordinator ensures that operations and maintenance barriers are identified and addressed. They work with System Owners to advise and provide technical consultation to operations and maintenance activities, including LOTO and non-routine operations. The Operations Coordinator also has the responsibility of interfacing with system dispatching (COA’s) and determining GADS classification of operational events and entry.
Maintaining up-to-date station procedures and working with regional PTC to maintain proper training records and training schedule for regulatory requirements would also be expected.
The following are key roles and fundamentals that the Operations Coordinator position fills: LOTO Program Owner, Work Management and Leadership, Operations Protocol Adherence.
Responsibilities
+ Works with other members of the station staff to prioritize, schedule and implement activities related to day-to-day operation and maintenance of the facility.
+ Support the station LOTO process to ensure LOTO activities are conducted in compliance with the Duke Energy LOTO procedure.
+ Supervise the work control center employees for proper implementation of LOTO program.
+ Communicates unit status and availability with Generation Dispatch Coordinator
+ Provides the overall station ranking for work identified.
+ Provide guidance on emergent work needs and assignments
+ Develops and maintains positive working relationships between departments
+ Support and follow processes of the RRE Operations Protocol Procedure with a focus on continuous improvement.
Required/Basic Qualifications
+ Associates degree
+ 5 years related work experience
+ In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 5 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 9 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
+ Associates degree in Science
+ In addition to desired degree, 10 years related work experience
+ CRO
Additional Preferred Qualifications
+ Financial acumen, including ability to analyze data
+ 5-7 years of plant operations experience
+ Detailed working knowledge of the overall operating fundamentals and principles of generating station systems, equipment and processes.
+ Experience and demonstrated computer skills including the ability to use various applications such as Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), work management system (Maximo), Plant Information (PI) programs.
+ Experience and demonstrated written and oral communications skills, including the ability to present information, facilitate meetings and provide direction to others.
Working Conditions
+ Performs work in an office environment but is required to observe work in all areas of generating facilities - industrial environments operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and humidity.
+ Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location
+ May be required to climb ladders and stairs at various heights; enter vessels or equipment with limited access.

+ Must have the ability to be respirator qualified.
