    About the Vein Center

     

    The Corewell Health Vein Center is the only IAC-accredited vein center in West Michigan. IAC accreditation indicates a dedication to achieving the highest standards of patient care and an unmatched commitment to quality and safety. Our physicians are board-certified and fellowship-trained with extensive vascular experience. As leaders in care, we are involved in research studies that continue to advance vein care. Our comprehensive vein program offers the latest technologies, and only FDA-approved treatments are performed.

     

    We are a leading vein center located at 4069 Lake Drive with an onsite café and convenient employee parking. Our department is equipped with the latest technology and staffed by 2 Vascular Surgeons and 3 APPs who are dedicated to providing top notch patient service. Our Outpatient Cardiology Department offers a wide range of services including Lymphedema Rehab Therapy, Cosmetic Injectables, Retail Products, In-Office Venous Procedures, Venous Ultrasound Imaging; and Office Visits for Deep Vein Thrombosis, Lymphedema, and Venous Disease. We strive to make our patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their entire experience.

    Scope of Work

    Performs basic diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by the physician and documents findings. Assists physicians with invasive procedures as needed. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

     

    + Obtains a complete and comprehensive patient history. Operates ultrasound equipment competently to provide quality diagnostic studies that meets the requirements of established ultrasound protocols.

    + Performs various diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by the referring physician and/or radiologists so that they meet the requirements of established ultrasound protocols.

    + Documents quality images, including pathology noted during real time scanning. As necessary, assists physicians during invasive procedures.

    + Maintains a clean work environment and stocks rooms with supplies as needed. Contacts service personnel and notifies management of malfunctioning equipment.

    + Supports objectives set by lead ultrasonographer, imaging specialist, supervisor and/or manager. Assists imaging specialist / manager in credentialing and competencies set forth by Spectrum Health and various regulatory agencies.

    + Auditory capability to hear tone and pitch fluctuations such as that associated with Doppler, vascular and cardiac studies.

    + Visual acuity associated with vascular doppler and flow studies. Have the corrected vision equivalent and ability necessary to perform, evaluate & determine appropriate, normal & abnormal, diagnosis for ultrasound.

    + Assignments are moderately complex; follows established protocols and has some flexibility in exercising judgement within established parameters. Works under minimal supervision/instruction; may serve as technical specialist/trainer and mentor to less experienced staff.

    Qualifications

    + Required Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in related field

    + Preferred Bachelor's Degree

    + 2 years of relevant experience in ultrasound Required

    + CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required Or

    + CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Excluding Vascular Sites Upon Hire required And

    + CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Excluding Vascular Sites Upon Hire required

    + CRT-Vascular Technologist (VT) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Vascular Sites Upon Hire required Or

    + CRT-Vascular Sonographer (VS) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Vascular Sites Upon Hire required And

    + CRT-Breast (BR) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Breast Center Sites Excluding Regionals not performing Breast Imaging Imaging Upon Hire required Or

    + CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Breast Center Sites Excluding Regionals not performing Breast Imaging Upon Hire required

    + CRT-Pediatric Sonographer (PS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography HDVCH Sites Upon Hire preferred

    + CRT-Musculoskeletal (MSK) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography MSK Sites Upon Hire preferred

    + CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or

    + CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required

    + CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Spectrum Health Lakeland Upon Hire required Or

    + Ideal candidate will be a Registered Vascular Technologist ( RVT ) with Cardiovascular, Vascular Surgery, or Vein experience

    + New grads may apply

    + This is a PRN Position with the ability to pick up shifts or hours up to 40 hours based on PTO and Sick coverage

    + Schedule will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
