Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
The Analyst, Payments Management on the Universal Studios Hollywood Controllership team is responsible for Payment operations, accounting and analysis. This position will assist with the set-up, mapping, and maintenance of new Merchant ID’s, new Payment Tenders, and the testing and implementation of new systems and enhancements as well as support financial close and new initiatives.
Responsibilities Include:
+ Support the overall Payments (Merchant IDs & Vault) accounting function by understanding all the USH various IT systems which support the reporting and recognition of revenue.
+ Perform credit card reconciliation and monitor Vault cash activity including monthly JE’s.
+ Monitor refund requests and provide risk assessment analyses on volume and trends extending findings to provide meaningful recommendations.
+ Work closely with Loss Prevention on fraud and payment risk processes.
+ Partner with various USH divisions including Finance, and IT and be actively involved in any setup, changes or modification of non-cash payment types ensuring the product/payment flows appropriately through BOH accounting systems and ultimately recognized to the general ledger in accordance with Payment industry stands & U.S. GAAP.
+ Own key Month- and Quarter-end close activities with a focus on timeliness and accuracy of deliverables, reconciliations, and financial statements.
+ Monitor daily Accounts Receivable (A/R) Interface and Aging and other analysis reports to support the business.
+ Facilitate optimization of current processes to further efficiencies and foster a forward progress culture.
+ Other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.
Basic Requirements:
+ Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within Accounting, Theme Parks, Financial Systems, or similar experience.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
+ Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
