We are looking for a detail-oriented Client Billing Specialist to join the team at Treasure Valley Lab!
As a Billing Specialist, you will greet patients and family members, obtain and verify all necessary information during the pre-registration process, discuss payment options and collect payment as necessary, and clear the patient for service delivery.
**POSITION DETAILS:** This is a fully remote position with a Part-Time schedule of Tuesday - Friday from 9:30AM - 2:30AM and Saturday 7:00AM - 3:30PM.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** :
+ High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Associate degree in Accounting or Business Administration highly desired.
+ Past work experience of at least one to three (1-3) years within a hospital or clinic environment, an insurance company, managed care organization or other health care financial service setting, performing medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting or customer service activities, or have successfully completed the requirements of the Patient Access Concierge Trainee job description is highly desired. Consideration may be given forcommensurate customer service experience in another industry.
+ Knowledge of insurance and governmental programs, regulations and billing processes (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, Champus, and Supplemental Security Income Disability), managed care contracts and coordination of benefits is highly desired.
+ Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and medical record coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) is preferred.
+ Completion of regulatory/mandatory certifications and skills validation competencies preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Ensure compliance with HIPAA and protect patient information integrity.
+ Perform pre-registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance for various patient types.
+ Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff to gather and verify data.
+ Collect and document patient financial liabilities and provide payment options.
+ Acquire and scan necessary documentation (e.g., IDs, insurance cards, consents).
+ Verify service authorizations and physician orders to support reimbursement.
+ Maintain accurate patient records and disseminate data to clinical systems.
+ Provide courteous, professional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
+ Collaborate with departments to ensure smooth patient flow and data accuracy.
+ Continuously learn and cross-train to support departmental needs and growth.
