    Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Pediatric Oncology at Dana Faber Cancer institute and the Chief of the Division of Hematology Oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital, oversees and manages all aspects of Faculty Affairs and Training including credentialing, process appointments, clinical privileging, and onboarding support and orientation for the joint Dana Farber Boston Children’s Hospital pediatric hematology oncology program. Coordinates and oversees training for fellows, medical students, and residents. Supervises credentialing and Fellowship Program Staff to ensure seamless integration of processes. Ensures training experiences for undergraduate medical students, residents, and rotating visiting fellows comply with all governing body requirements, ensuring adherence to required timelines and comply with governing body regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Oversee the credentialing and re-credentialing process for current and new medical staff, ensuring timely and thorough completion of appointments including initial medical staff appointments, reappointments, promotions, clinical privileging, faculty appointments, and support for onboarding and orientation.

    + Monitor the status of all ongoing and upcoming applications, and conduct weekly or bi-weekly executive reports out to leadership, i.e., DFCI Chair of Ped Onc, BCH Chief of Hem/Onc, alerting the Chair and/or Chief about matters requiring their attention.

    + Coordinate resolution of issues with the Medical Staff Office, Human Resources, Department of Medicine (DOM), etc., ensuring timely follow-up and issue resolution.

    + Ensure maintenance of an accurate, organized, and up-to-date database documenting medical staff and faculty information and paperwork (e.g., regularly updated storage on an online cloud drive and Faculty Profile Database).

    + Oversee the collection of applications and provide administrative support to search and review committees at both DFCI and BCH, including advice on process requirements.

    + Interface with external organizations and internal offices involved in the medical staff credentialing and onboarding process, including but not limited to the DOM, Medical Staff Offices, Human Resources across DFCI, BCH, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

    + Identify discrepancies in practitioner applications and support appointment specialists in resolving issues, including follow-up with appropriate individuals, offices, and/or organizations internal/external.

    + Ensure regular follow-up with BCH Department of Medicine and HMS Office of Faculty Affairs following submission of the dossier to obtain updates on the status of applications, and resolve any issues in a timely manner.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree required.

    + Master’s degree preferred

    Experience:

    + 6 years of non profit, hospital, or healthcare management and faculty development experience

    + Demonstrated ability in program management and project implementation skills. Knowledge of the role of business models in strategic planning and organizational behavior is a plus.

    + Proficiency with database design management, word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics.

    + Demonstrated ability in multidisciplinary collaboration and the ability to initiate, prioritize, and manage concurrent projects, working across multiple departmental lines of authority and accountability and under pressure to meet deadlines.
