About Network & Acquiring Solutions
As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the heart of American Express. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing & Acquiring partners in more than 170 markets worldwide. We grow revenue by driving strategic, multi-year initiatives to deliver differentiated value to our merchants, partners, and customers.
The Network & Acquirer Capability and Data Team within NAS works to deliver digital products and services for merchants, network acquirers and issuers, and payment facilitators such as ATM/debit, point of sale authorizations and submissions, transaction pricing, disputes and settlement that meet the evolving demands of our global payment network. The wide range of solutions we develop enable the enterprise to attract new customers, operate in new markets, react to regulatory demands, and process new/emerging types of payments. A role on this team will challenge you to broaden your business solution design, agile product, data stewardship, quality assurance and operational readiness skills while incorporating an industry perspective in a collaborative, diverse and inclusive team environment.
Envisioning partners with Product Strategy and Capability Delivery to drive business value through high quality analysis, effective use of business capabilities, challenging assumptions and translating product objectives into refined requirements so technology teams can deliver efficient, high-impact solutions. The role will lead the definition of such key enterprise strategic priorities as Acquirer Platform Transformation and acquisition model development.
About the Role
The role will lead a team of highly skilled managers with an industry and external mindset and a passion for creating the best capabilities to enable innovative products and services in the network. They will be deeply thoughtful, able to think creatively, and effectively drive outcomes through ambiguity. They will focus on business value, identifying opportunities for transformation, assessing alternative solutions (particularly through industry research), and clearly defining how the final deliverable meets the customer’s need and fits within the transaction processing lifecycle. The success of the leader in this role will depend upon the individual’s ability to lead and inspire a highly performing team to think strategically, build strong relationships, understand, and drive the appropriate business architecture and focus on what delivers business value.
Responsibilities include:
* Drive strategic alignment by ensuring partner and internal requirements are consistently in sync with American Express' strategic objectives and long-term business capability goals, challenging requests where needed to maintain focus on high-impact outcomes.
* Lead the team in converting complex partner needs into clear, value-driven, and holistic business requirements that enable structured discovery and effective delivery.
* Champion future-proof solutions by guiding the development of scalable, innovative, and sustainable solutions that anticipate industry evolution and deliver lasting business value.
* Enable efficient execution & delivery excellence by established frameworks, templates, and processes that allow the team to operate with clarity, discipline, and agility to support consistent, timely, and impactful implementation.
* Foster stakeholder & expertise engagement by acting as the key connector between subject matter experts, product strategy, technology teams, and external partners, ensuring informed decision-making through collaborative input.
* Partner with stakeholders to define and align strategic objectives. Manage relationships across multiple business stakeholders as well as technology, finance, and compliance partnerships.
* Develop strategies and roadmaps working with teams across the enterprise to achieve business targets.
* Ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving project related issues.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills (interpersonal, group/meeting facilitation, and executive presentations/communications).
* Prioritization of tasks and deliverables, utilizing data and strategic business analysis to drive results.

Qualifications
Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually bonus benefits
