Our client in Manistee, MI is looking for a hardworking, motivated individual to join their team!
What will you be doing?
_This list may not be inclusive of the total scope of job functions to be performed. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or modified at any time._
+ Primary Clerk to the Circuit Court Judge. Attends Circuit Court on court days to keep case records concerning proceedings such a pleas, arraignments, sentencing and other court proceedings. Also clerks for Friend of the Court as needed.
+ Prepares monthly and quarterly reports regarding the status of case files.
+ Attends Circuit Court bench trials, opens court and swears in witnesses. May also be asked to attend jury trials.
+ Reports to the following state departments: Secretary of State, Michigan Department of Public Health, Supreme Court/Start Court Administrator's Office, State of Court Appeals, Supreme Court, Attorney General's Office, Michigan State Police and Michigan Department of Corrections,
+ Precise data entry of reports and court documents.
What do you bring?
+ Positive, can-do attitude
+ Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience
+ 2-3 years of clerical experience with knowledge of legal terminology and legal procedures
+ Basic knowledge of bookkeeping
+ Strong computer skills with experience in word processing, databases and spreadsheets, and the ability to demonstrate proficiency.
+ Superior organizational and written communication skills
+ Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
+ Ability to maintain high confidentiality and the ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a professional manner
