**Job Title:** Director of Technical Accounting & Policy
About the Role
A global organization is seeking a **Director of Technical Accounting & Policy** to lead its technical accounting function and serve as a strategic advisor across finance, legal, and business development teams. This high-impact role will oversee complex accounting matters, policy development, and the implementation of new accounting standards under both US GAAP and IFRS.
The position also leads accounting workstreams for M&A transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, and post-close integration. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
+ Serve as the subject matter expert for all technical accounting topics
+ Research, analyze, and document accounting positions for complex transactions
+ Lead the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards (US GAAP & IFRS)
+ Partner with legal, finance, and business development teams to provide proactive accounting guidance
+ Lead accounting workstreams for M&A transactions, including opening balance sheet preparation and valuation reports
+ Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues
+ Develop and deliver training on new accounting standards across the organization
+ Update and maintain accounting policies in alignment with evolving standards
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred)
+ CPA certification required
+ 8–12 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting and external reporting
+ Strong SEC reporting and technical accounting background
+ Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred
+ Experience with M&A accounting and ESG reporting a plus
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
