Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leader in the HVAC industry, has an opening for an experienced Mechanical Engineer at our corporate office in Bryan, OH.

Scope and Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineer coordinates engineering activities to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and market leading SPVU product designs that support the company’s marketing and sales goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with team members to design and develop new SPVU air conditioning and heat pump products.
+ Select and oversee component choices to meet design objectives and maximize standardization.
+ Participate actively in the new product development process.
+ Monitor project progress and provide detailed monthly reports to department leadership, ensuring timely completion.
+ Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful completion of engineering initiatives.
+ Draft and supervise the creation of detailed Bills of Materials for new products.
+ Work closely with sales and applications to generate product requirements and scope
+ Work closely with manufacturing to ensure new products are manufacturable.
+ Prepare and submit documentation for UL Safety Listings (UL/ETL) and AHRI Capacity and Efficiency Ratings.
+ Draft product specifications and installation instructions for new products.
+ Redesign existing products to comply with evolving federal, state, and regional regulations.
+ Develop process specifications in coordination with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering.
+ Ensure proper product labeling for safety warnings in compliance with ANSI standards.
+ Define and oversee equipment testing to ensure compliance with UL and AHRI standards.
+ Review test data for accuracy and compliance, ensuring statistical analysis per AHRI/DOE requirements.
+ Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to support innovation.
+ Strive for continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and collaboration across teams
Required Experience:
The successful candidate will possess the following skills/abilities:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred; plus 5 years’ experience in an engineering environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Strong organizational skills to achieve departmental objectives.
+ Solid understanding of air conditioning and heat pump fundamentals.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Familiarity with AHRI and UL standards.
+ Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office Suite).
+ Experience with refrigeration, heating, and humidification equipment.
+ Use of meters, instruments, wind tunnels, motor test equipment, sound analysis, and vibration measurement tools.
