Reporting to the Senior Manager, Polymer and Pretreatment, the **Technical Services Consultant** is responsible for providing application support to sales representatives and clients in product screenings and treatment program selection, being responsible for troubleshooting treatment programs to meet the customer’s cost and performance objectives and preparing written trip reports to document recommendations and results and to assist the sales representatives in advancing the selling process.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide polymer expertise in the Chemical/Refining and Food & Beverage verticals with support to the ChemTreat field sales representatives as needed throughout the United States, Canada, and Latin America, making a difference in water quality and applying your industrial technical experience in wastewater!
The ideal candidate would be located in the Houston area and travel throughout the continental U.S. on an average of three days/two nights per week (about **70% of travel** ).
This position is part of the Polymer team located in Houston and will be **remote** .
In this role, a typical day will look like:
+ Provide field sales technical assistance and product recommendations. This includes plant surveys, proposal preparation, sales presentations, application testing and customer/prospect entertainment.
+ Applying knowledge of polymer chemistry and polymer uses and testing procedures.
+ Provide expertise to ChemTreat sales representatives in product screening and treatment program selection, the application of chosen treatment programs, and in troubleshooting treatment programs to meet the customer’s cost and performance objectives in the area of chemical/refining and Food & Beverage.
+ Travel throughout the continental U.S. on an average of three days/two nights per week.
+ Provide field troubleshooting and technical assistance as required. This assistance includes problem solving, sales representative on-site training, operator training, and equipment inspections.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor of Arts/Sciences or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, or related fields is required.
+ Ten+ years of field experience in water and wastewater treatment will be considered as an equivalent to a four-year degree
+ 5 or more years’ experience with a major water treatment company.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $145,000 - $155,000 USD per year.
