Job Title: Drafting Manager
Job Description
Actalent is seeking to hire an Drafting Manager to lead a team of drafters and technicians who support both product design and manufacturing. This role involves a combination of hands-on coordination and team leadership. The successful candidate will ensure that technical drawings and documents are accurate and delivered on time, while also fostering team growth and success.
Responsibilities
+ Supervise a team that creates drawings and supports testing and builds.
+ Ensure all technical documents meet standards and deadlines.
+ Coordinate technician work such as building prototypes and running tests.
+ Work closely with engineers to transform ideas into clear technical outputs.
+ Set and maintain drafting and documentation standards.
+ Manage team priorities and workloads.
+ Train and mentor team members.
+ Track and improve team performance.
Essential Skills
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting, or a related field (preferred).
+ 5+ years of experience in drafting, design support, or technical services.
+ 2+ years of experience leading a team.
+ Strong skills in CAD software and drafting standards.
+ Familiarity with shop floor and testing environments.
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ A passion for aviation is a plus.
+ Experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and mechanical engineering.
+ Project management skills.
+ Understanding of aerospace and aerospace engineering.
+ Proficiency in document control and CAD management.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
