SQE Launch Engineer
Job Description
As a SQE Launch Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that suppliers exceed corporate launch quality, capacity, and warranty metrics for vehicle delivery. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional decisions, implementing commodity-specific business plans, and ensuring zero vehicle losses from suppliers.
Responsibilities
+ Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure supplier excellence in corporate launch quality, capacity, and warranty metrics.
+ Lead cross-functional decisions with supplier leadership to resolve open issues.
+ Implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses due to supplier issues.
+ Serve as the principal on-site for troubleshooting and corrective actions in emergency supplier situations.
+ Lead adherence to company standards, such as Q1.
+ Drive assessment and validation of manufacturing feasibility at supplier sites.
+ Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP).
+ Utilize data metrics and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions for improved quality.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent technical/manufacturing aptitude.
+ Expertise in supplier quality management.
+ Must have experience as the owner or team lead of a PPAP process with a former/current employer.
+ Proficiency and Ownership of PPAP processes.
+ Strong problem-solving skills.
+ Experience with APQP.
Work Environment
The role requires a hands-on approach, often involving on-site presence at supplier locations to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions. The work environment is dynamic, focusing on maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
