Job Title: CAD Engineer - Exterior TrimJob Description

We are currently seeking an Exterior Trim Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing parts of the exterior systems of a world-class vehicle, focusing on both styling and functionality. The ideal candidate should exhibit a proactive attitude and approach their work with vigor and determination. This role requires excellence in the respective field, the ability to learn quickly, and a drive for perfection in a fast-paced environment. The engineer will play a leading role in the packaging, engineering design, release, and launch of exterior trims for a state-of-the-art vehicle.

Responsibilities

+ Design cutting-edge exterior systems emphasizing quality, reliability, functionality, mass, and cost efficiency.

+ Collaborate within a cross-functional studio and vehicle engineering team, prioritizing the overall benefit of the vehicle.

+ Employ and develop world-class engineering tools and innovative approaches to support the exterior trim systems including frunk, froot, rocker panels, and plastic design.

Essential Skills

+ 2 years of experience in vehicle exterior trim design and development.

+ Proven experience in creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6.

+ Experience with thermoplastic and thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies, including painting.

+ A good understanding of computational tools available to design engineers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Five or more years of experience with plastics design, Class A surfaces, front crash aero features, lighting integration, module integration, tooling, resins, supply base, fit and finish, gap and flush, module concept, thermal expansion, structural design, and paint matching.

+ Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering degree.

+ Strong desire to create the best product as an integral part of a capable team.

+ Well-developed team working and interpersonal skills.

+ Excellent work ethic.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
