The Safety Coordinator is dedicated to ensuring the safest possible workplace while maintaining OSHA compliance. This role involves a hands-on approach, working closely with operations personnel to implement and manage a proactive, behavior-based health and safety strategy, with a strong emphasis on personal responsibility, incident prevention, and management systems compliance.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct audits and hazard analysis of project operations.
+ Assist in updating and maintaining the company safety manual.
+ Provide training for New Hire Orientation, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10, Competent Person, and Asbestos as needed.
+ Ensure daily interactions with field personnel and management teams to maintain safety and compliance.
+ Collaborate with teams to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies, and procedures.
+ Track employee development and on-the-job training to ensure skill acquisition for safe and effective job performance.
+ Work with personnel to ensure safe placement and job assignment.
+ Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections.
+ Cultivate positive working relationships with customer representatives and work with crews to address any safety issues.
+ Develop and deliver training to support business needs and maintain all training documentation.
+ Promote and champion corporate training systems with a commitment to safety and quality.
+ Evaluate and maintain inspection and testing reports.
+ Assist in the process, maintenance, and recordkeeping of incidents.
+ Prepare, schedule, and conduct regular QA/QC crew audits.
+ Assist with OQ Training and Evaluating when needed.
+ Maintain and develop knowledge of gas distribution, pipeline, and underground safety.
+ Travel throughout the United States as required.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 3 years of verifiable safety experience preferred.
+ OSHA 500 certification or other accredited safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, OHS, CHST, CSST, CSHO.
+ Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related curriculum preferred.
+ Strong presentation skills for leading safety meetings and trainings.
+ Familiarity with quality assurance audits in the natural gas and public utility industry.
+ Ability to identify and record proper and improper practices on natural gas job sites.
+ Technical assistance in investigating accidents, incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
+ Experience in coordinating and communicating information across company and department lines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CUSP Certification is highly regarded.
+ Experience in safety, construction, distribution, substation, and TLINE.
Work Environment
The work is distributed across various project sites in Texas. Employees may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment, and vibration. Occasionally, they may encounter a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites, where noise levels can be loud. The role requires working in outdoor weather conditions.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
Pike Company benefits including company credit card, company truck, full benefits, 401k, etc.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Dallas,TX.
