    Job Description

    Join a dynamic engineering firm that specializes in design services for power utilities and telecommunications. As a drafter, you will play a crucial role in designing, drafting, and updating maps of communication utilities using Katapult imagery. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a small engineering team and engage with premier clients in the power industry.

    Responsibilities

    + Design, draft, and update maps of communication utilities using Katapult imagery gathered from the field.

    + Interpret and reproduce field notes for project specifications.

    + Enter accurate mechanical and technical data into online databases.

    + Complete all projects in a timely manner.

    + Make calculations and analyze data provided by field technicians to ensure equipment meets current standards for quality control and accuracy.

    + Apply company/client policies and procedures for the development of site designs for overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities, including reconductoring, conversions, cable replacement, customer, and reliability jobs.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in drafting with experience in utility poles and telecommunications.

    + Experience with Katapult software, 2D drafting, and OSP (Outside Plant) design.

    + 1+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Associates Degree or AutoCAD Drafting certification.

    + Experience in power distribution or telecommunications is preferred.

    + Familiarity with Google Earth and GIS

    Work Environment

    Work within a small engineering team in an office environment. You will be provided with a company laptop and monitors to facilitate your tasks.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, Kentucky.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
