Job Title: Field TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a Distribution Field Technician to join our Distribution Group in Orlando, FL. This role involves supporting 3rd party attachments (Telecom Joint Use) for a major utility company. The technician will be responsible for collecting data on existing power poles, identifying equipment such as transformers and telecom lines, taking measurements, marking line heights, and capturing photographs. This position provides support to the Distribution Design Team for Florida.

Responsibilities

+ Collect and analyze data points on existing power poles.

+ Identify and document equipment including transformers, breakers, switches, and telecom lines.

+ Take precise measurements and mark heights of power and telecom lines.

+ Capture and organize photographic documentation of field conditions.

+ Collaborate with the Distribution Design Team to support utility projects.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in data collection and field engineering.

+ Experience with electric utility systems and power delivery.

+ Familiarity with AutoCAD and telecommunication technologies.

+ Ability to work independently and in outdoor environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree is a plus.

+ Prior field utility experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

+ Tech-savvy with the ability to operate necessary equipment.

+ Comfortable with outdoor work and able to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

The role is based primarily in the field, with about 90% of the time spent outdoors and 10% in the office for administrative tasks and data entry. The team consists of approximately 18 members. A company vehicle and gas card are provided for fieldwork, which is often conducted in groups of two or three. The position offers a 4/10 work schedule with opportunities for overtime. Appropriate attire and PPE are required.

This is a Contract position based out of Maitland, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
